Wymering Manor Trust receives cash donation from South East Hampshire Masons Festive Board!
Penny Mordaunt MP and Charles Haskell of Wymering Manor Trust welcomed Andrew Coombs, founder of the South East Hampshire Masons Festive Board on Saturday 5th June to the trust. Mr Andrew, along with colleagues Graham and Sue presented a cheque for £549.84 to help towards the running and restoration of the grade two listed building.
Penny Mordaunt said, "The donation raised is very welcome and will help fund the work needed to preserve and restore the manor and create bids to take the project to the next level. The great success of the South East Hampshire Masons' Festive Board and what it has achieved would not have been possible without the hard work; dedication and commitment from Andrew and colleagues; and as a result, an incredible amount has been raised for different charities during these unprecedented times; including the Wymering Manor Trust."
Charles Haskell added, "The donation is wonderful. We're a charity of volunteers and all monies will help with restoring the manor as well as looking to bid for more funding to move us towards our bigger restoration goals to protect this unique and historic cultural asset. Please follow us on social media to stay up to date with our progress and upcoming events, fundraisers or to get involved with volunteering with the trust."

Pre-2013, the organisation was grown out of a local community action group "The Wymering Manor Steering Group" which had support from a variety of local organisations including Highbury College and Portsmouth City Council. Wymering Manor Trust once established finalised negotiations with Portsmouth City Council and purchased the property known as Wymering Manor. The journey to restore this fantastic part of Portsmouth history is ongoing.
