Dear Penny Mordaunt,
Coronavirus Community Support Fund is open.
As you may have heard on Wednesday, via the Government’s daily briefing, we are pleased to share that the Coronavirus Community Support Fund opened at 10am on Friday.
The new funding stream makes available £200m in Government funding that will be aimed primarily at small to medium organisations in England. This will be distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund and will provide much-needed financial support to communities across England. The funding is part of the £750m support package that the Chancellor announced on the 8th April.
Since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic, The National Lottery Community Fund has already distributed £120m to charity and community organisations across the UK, we are now already receiving applications for support from the Government funding.
I wanted to give you some further information to help you share the news about the new fund with your local groups who may be interested in applying.
Applications for both Government and National Lottery funding will be via the same entry point on our website, making it easier for people to apply.
We know that demand will be extremely high, and unfortunately not everyone will be successful.
The aim of the programme is to support organisations to continue to deliver vital services to people and communities affected by COVID-19.
We can fund activities supporting people and communities affected by COVID-19. We can also help organisations overcome any acute financial difficulties they’re facing because of the pandemic.
Please take a look at our website to see more information on the types of projects and organisations we are funding.
