Penny Mordaunt MP met with Portsmouth City Council officers to discuss and view plans to rebuild the sea and flood defences along the North Portsea coastline, around Hilsea Lido and down to Tipner. These plans will be presented to the public shortly for consultation and further public approval.
Penny said, "It's great to the see that this work will both visually improve the whole coastline and direct area around the Hilsea, Stamshaw and Tipner. We have a wealth of heritage sites and assets in this area and as well as providing vital sea and flood protection for residents, it means that there's potential to make my plans for a WW1 / WW2 heritage trail a reality. We need to protect our heritage assets, which can be enjoyed by so many local residents too."
